German Oral Competition

This the Society's biggest school project involving up to 200 secondary school students from the Wellington region, 40 judges (German teachers or native speakers) and 20 university students. The students compete in Prepared Reading and Conversation categories and are judged by both a German teacher and a native speaker of German. Each participant is graded Excellence, Merit or Credit according to their achievement and receives a certificate. The students with the highest marks in each year will also receive book prizes. Certificates and prizes are presented during a prize giving ceremony with students, teachers, parents and representatives of the the German and Swiss Embassies present.

at Victoria University

Students meet at 9:15am or 10:30am in the Hugh Mackenzie Building, Lecture Theatre HM LT 105
