The Society annually awards two prizes:
Con Kooznetzoff Award
This award was established in memory of Professor Con Kooznetzoff, who was Professor of German at Victoria University of Wellington, and his involvement with secondary schools. It is awarded in recognition of the work done promoting German in schools in the Central Districts, i.e. the wider Wellington area which includes Marlborough, Nelson, Kapiti Coast and the Wairarapa.

Dr Jacoby Memorial Prize
This Prize is awarded to the participant of German Oral Competition with the highest overall score. The recipient is encouraged to buy a German language material with the prize money.
