VUW German Students' Club Play Pyramus und/and Thisbe

Much hilarity ensues when the German students tackle the classical tragic love story of 'Pyramus and Thisbe'. Andreas Gryphius' farce "Absurda Comica, oder Herr Peter Squentz" provides the German script, William Shakespeare's 'rude mechanicals' from "A Midsummer Night's Dream" the English version. Let's watch them battle it out! Directed by Hillary Reid & Monika Smith. In both English and German.

“Glotzt nicht so europäisch!”: Whaea Kairau – Kiwis appropriate Brecht

Bronwyn is a Lecturer in the Theatre Programme at Victoria University, and has been involved in bringing several German plays to New Zealand audiences since 2002.
With this talk she will look at Apirana Taylor's rewrite of Brecht's Mother Courage.

Peter is a professional singer and has lived worked in Austria for many years.
"We listen and look at the legacy that endures of Mozart's operas - the works which are central in current repertoire around the world. Peter Baillie will investigate the elements in these works that still continue to intrigue, challenge and enchant in Wolfgang Amadé's 250th year."
